Texas Fly Fishing report 3/30/2020

Lake Houston- White bass, Yellow bass and crappie run is coming to and end but they are still around. If you havent got in on the action you dont have much longer locally. With that being said the Spotted bass spawn is started in the creeks and it only gets better from here.

Lake Conroe- the largemouth bass have been in full spawn and are coming to and end but they have been very willing to take poppers early and as the day goes ep baitfish and other smaller patterns. Bowfin are still on beds here and there and have been mostly willing to take a well placed streamer. Crappie and redears are also bedded up so if everything else slows down you always have them as a back up plan. Gar spawn has been is full swing also. Commons have been hit and miss but when theyre feeding theyre big!

Urban Houston Bayous- Carp spawn is in full swing and commons and grass carp are all over the flats and very willing. Tilapia, gar and buffalo also have been playing.

Dallas/Fort Worth- White bass, yellow bass, crappie and Hybrid run is in full swing on several local rivers and creeks(pretty much all). Bass spawn is in the middle phase and they mostly on beds throughout the region. Common carp have been super willing to eat on low flow creeks, river and several flooded lake flats. Brazo river just had a major flood and is getting back to fishable flows. Look for that to be on fire all spring. Also keep an eye out for surface feeding carp. Weve been finding lots of Grassers and Commons surface sipping tree seeds.
